In a discussion in the Senate, Aziz recalled that during the '80s in the 20th century, the US Administration then created the Mujahiddeen in the Pakistani tribal areas to fight the Soviets in Afghanistan.
That factor contributed to decades of instability in Pakistan and the region, asserted the official, according to the newspaper Dawn.
Aziz made those statements in the framework of a senatorial session to analyze recent comments by US President Barack Obama, considered offensive by Islamabad.
The advisor ratified the policy of his Government of not interfering in the internal affairs of other nations and restrain from participating in foreign conflicts.
